Peter trained at Sheffield and Cambridge and was ordained in 1980 before spending the first 16 years of his ministry in Manchester. He moved to Ipswich and was vicar of St Mary le Tower for nearly 12 years before being appointed Archdeacon of Pontefract in 2008. During his time in Ipswich he took the memorial service for Sir Alf Ramsey with a congregation that included most of the World Cup-winning 1966 England football team! With the creation of the Diocese of Leeds, Peter has also now taken on the role of Diocesan Mothers’ Union chaplain.
