School Capital Funding Allocations

School condition allocations (SCA) and devolved formula capital (DFC) allocations up to 2019 are to continue in a similar format to this year. There is also funding included under the healthy pupils capital funding for 2018 to 2019.  The document titled Condition funding methodology for 2018 to 2019 for DFC/LCVAP is an Explanatory note for School Condition Allocations and Devolved Formula Capital where you can calculate your allocation for 2018/19.

The Capital Improvement Fund 2018/19 for Academies has now been announced 

Please click here to find out more information. Please include under statutory fees the relevant lump sum figure as listed on the Academies page under professional fees.
The deadline to register is 30 November 2017 with the deadline for bids being 14 December 2017

LCVAP Programme 2018/19

All Voluntary Aided Schools are invited to submit bids for LCVAP funding for the 2018/19 Programme.  Schools should work closely with their preferred consultants and align their bids to the school Asset Management Plan.  Initial bids should be sent to Kevin Matthews by Friday 21 July 2017.  Should you have any questions around LCVAP or submitting a bid, please do not hesitate to contact Helen Williams or Kevin Matthwews.

LCVAP Programme 2017/18

We are pleased to announce that all local authorities with whom we work have confirmed the successful bids for LCVAP funding in 2017/18.  Please find a full list of successful schools below.


The Education Funding Agency has published new guidance on GOV.UK aimed at schools, local authorities and trusts in understanding their obligations and duties in relation to asbestos management in schools. Salix Funding opportunity

If you are interested in reducing energy bills this may be a funding avenue you wish to consider further. The deadline for maintained schools to express interest is very tight (17/03/17) so please complete the expression of interest form straight away through the link in the document below or click on the link below for more information.

Funding for Academies and MATs

The window of opportunity for academies has now closed for funds in 2017 but should open again in November so, keep an eye on the Salix pages nearer the time. I would recommend reviewing this now for your school so you are ready to submit an expression of interest at the appropriate time.  

Funding for Maintained Schools (VA, VC and Foundation Schools)

As budgets get tighter all help in reducing expenditure needs to be considered. Guidance and forms are available on the opportunities available to you.

Condition Data Collection (CDC) programme

From early 2017 to Autumn 2019, the EFA’s Condition Data Collection (CDC) programme will inspect every government maintained school in England to collect data about the physical condition of school buildings and how they are managed.
On the DfE website there are four useful documents which you need to familiarise yourself with:-

CDC Guide to completeing the School Questionnaire

Schools are required to:

  • Provide contextual information about their site(s) by completing the School Questionnaire before the site visit
  • Provide evidence of key building management and compliance documentation relating to their site(s)
  • Meet with surveyors when they visit
  • Provide full access to their site when surveyors visit
  • Inform the Diocese when contact has been made.

Tranche 1 and Tranche 2, and now Tranche 3 of 6 shows the schools who should have/will be contacted.
