Recluse: the life and work of William Capeling Stevens

On 9 January 1911 William was found dead in his Saltaire home: his body had lain undiscovered for three weeks.  He was a talented artist but due to his reclusive nature, never achieved the recognition he deserved.  These paintings are from a private collection and have not been shown publicly since 1970.

There will be an illustrated talk about William's life and work on Wednesday 11 April at 7.00pm.  Free entry, donations appreciated.
