This year's winners of the diocese's Fairtrade poster competition - now in its third year - have just been announced.
The theme was Put Fairtrade in your Break, and the winners are:
Hollie from St Margaret’s CofE Primary School in Horsforth
Alaina from Wycliffe CE Primary School in Shipley
Rachel from Abbey Grange CofE Academy in Leeds.
The Revd Christina Walker, a Fairtrade champion in the diocese, says, "Each year the competition reaches out further to include schools, youth groups, Sunday School, Mothers’ Union and secular businesses in the area.
"Over 2,500 people have entered the competition to date, with winners coming from across the diocese.
"The judges look for a poster that is particularly eye-catching or amusing, shows the Fairtrade Mark and encourages its viewers to think about Fairtrade.
"Entrants may use any medium, including computer collage.
"On several occasions the decision has been so tough that joint winners have been announced.
"This year, all the entries from Abbey Grange Academy were so colourful and informative, it’s hoped that a site can be found in the Diocese to display their work.
"Congratulations to the three 2017 winners who will all receive Fairtrade Easter eggs and prize certificates signed by Bishop Nick."
