Lay conference FAQ

Booking a ticket

As part of the registration process we will need some personal information from you (your name, email address and, where applicable, dietary and access needs). This will be used mainly for organising the Lay Conference, but the Diocese of Leeds will also use some of your details to send follow up information to you about the Lay Conference. You can update or change this information by contacting layconference@leeds.anglican.org. We are using Eventbrite, an external platform, for the registration process. Eventbrite’s data processing policies can be found here. You will need to agree to their terms and conditions to complete your registration.

When you register, you will be asked to provide an email address. An email confirmation will be sent to you automatically. If you have not received this confirmation or have lost it, please email layconference@leeds.anglican.org

Parish delegates will pay by credit/debit card during the online booking process. Those allocated one of the extra places (BAME, people with disabilities and young people), will be given instructions on how to register for those tickets. Please go to Registration for more information.

There are extra places for four young people (aged 14-17) per deanery and for people with disabilities or who are BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnicity), in line with national efforts to increase inclusion. Click here for information on extra places.

Registration is available from Monday 12th March. Please go to Registration for more information.

Yes, booking in advance is essential. You will need to show your ticket upon arrival at the event otherwise you will not be granted access. This applies to all attendees including stall holders and diocesan staff (separate instructions will be provided).

Refunds will not be possible.

If you can no longer attend the event after booking, parish delegates should refer to their "lead priest" to arrange a substitute. It will not be possible to alter the self-select sessions on these tickets. The substitute attendee must notify layconference@leeds.anglican.org of a name change by Thursday 7th June and any dietary requirements no later than Monday 21st May. After this time, the attendee will be required to bring their own food to the event. Anyone who has an extra place who can no longer attend should contact layconference@leeds.anglican.org

No, it is essential that parish participant tickets be purchased individually. This provides the organisers with the information they require and allows attendees to book on to their chosen self-select sessions.
